Drink - CollegeLeader Conference
Save the Dates: October 15- October 17
The reservoir of resources for college ministry is no longer dry.
At Drink '08 we had 22 States represented and we hope this year you'll add to that!
Drink is specifically designed for, but not limited to church-based college-age ministry leaders and their students. If Passion is the event you promote, DRINK is the conversation you enter. Through intentionally focused seminars, intimate roundtable discussions with leaders from around the country, conversations over cups of coffee and eating every meal together this is an excellent time of learning, brainstorming, team building and of course networking. The conference begins Thursday night at 8pm with the first meeting and will conclude Saturday afternoon at 4pm.

We also encourage you to bring key students with you as well! There will be specific seminars and topics designed for them, but having them by your side as you learn and think through your ministry can be one of the healthiest things for your ministry this year. Investing this time into them, we believe, is more than worth it!
Student Price: $99 each
Some of our speakers are:
Brad Baker: Brad moved to California in July of ’05 to work with the college-age young adults at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest. After 7 years of college ministry experience his passion continues to grow to see this generation experience God and make him famous through their lives.
Chuck Bomar: After serving for almost 9 years as pastor of student/college ministries at Cornerstone in Simi Valley, Ca., Chuck Bomar is now founding pastor of Colossae, in Portland Oregon. He’s founder of CollegeLeader and has developed numerous resources for those serving in college ministry. He’s author of 99 Thought’s for College-age People, and College Ministry 101: a guide to working with 18-25 year olds (YS/Zondervan).
Benson Hines: Benson spent August 2007 to August 2008 on a year-long “research road trip” exploring Collegiate Ministry around the country. He has ultimately reached 181 campuses in 44 states and had discussions with 400 leaders in college ministry. He brings a “big picture” understanding to the field of college ministry that is crucial to our ministries.
Bob Hetzler: Bob lives in Southern California and with over 20 years experience serving youth is a full-time consultant to churches and other Christian organizations, focusing on college-age people. Having served as a resident director on a college campus Bob brings a different perspective to church-based college ministry – he sees ministry through the eyes of working with students on campus. Bob has a very close relationship with CE National, writing a blog for them, doing seminars on Millennials, and advising churches who want to start a college-age ministry. Bob loves to read, was a history teacher (in another lifetime!), he loves anything with meat in it, and is loyal to southern California teams – especially the Dodgers and USC football.
Matt Metzger: Matt serves as the College Pastor at Blackhawk Church in Madison, WI. He’s been there since August of 2000 ministering primarily to students attending the University of Wisconsin (as seen in Mtv’s “College Life” series). He was brought there to start the ministry and over the years has created a very unique and close partnership with major para-church ministries on campus. Matt has a passion to look at how the church and para-church ministries can effectively work together to more effectively reach a campus community for Christ. Matt has a close working relationship with Passion Ministries in Atlanta and has been a breakout session speaker for them on numerous occasions.
Todd Nighswonger: Todd has been in local church ministry for over 15 years and is currently serving as an elder and Executive Pastor at Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, Ca. He is certainly one of the great thinkers we know of in the Church today and is leading a church that puts an extremely high value on college-age people.
Abbie Smith: With personal involvements in ministry, local church and missionary roles across the world, Abbie brings a wide array of interests to the discussion of college ministry. She's worked on various fronts with Passion Conferences and recently received her Masters in Spiritual Formation from Talbot Seminary. She’s also author of Can You Have Faith In College, as well as the 33 week CollegeLeader small group curriculum, Faith In College.
Joshua Walker: Previously a Mechanical Engineer working in the aerospace industry (1995-2003), Joshua is currently serving as the President of Eternity Bible College. It is no stretch to say he has revolutionized how bible college can work. He brings a ministry and biblical perspective that we all in college ministry need to hear!
