Overview
Here's what is being said about it:
“I have known Chuck for many years and what is in this book is not just theory. This book is filled with insight from someone who has been totally immersed in very fruitful college ministry. I am so thrilled that this book has been written because it is urgent that we must pay attention to the college age group and the uniqueness of it. I don’t know of any other book that gives as much practical wisdom as this one.”
Dan Kimball, author of They Like Jesus But Not The Church
“We have searched for years for a book that would help us to both understand and serve college students with the same energy and passion we provide middle and high school students. In College Ministry 101 we now have not just a book, but the book. Chuck Bomar, a smart, gifted and seasoned pastor to college students and young adults, has taken what has made him the most sought after college ministry trainers in the country and created the resource that will be the standard for years to come.”
Chap Clark, Fuller Theological Seminary
“A gaping hole in the literature of youth and young adult ministry has been a book on college ministry, as college and university life is currently experienced by young people. Chuck Bomar has ably filled that gap with College Ministry 101. Conversant with the latest thinking in late adolescent (i.e., college age) developmental theory, and honed by years of work with university students, Chuck’s book will be the gold standard in this area for many years to come.
Tony Jones (tonyj.net ), author of The New Christians: Dispatches from the Emergent Frontier
For too long, college ministry has been a black hole of uncertainty and ambiguity. I have great respect for Chuck Bomar and love how his book shines light on the why’s and how’s of college ministry.
Kara Powell, Executive Director, Fuller Youth Institute
Description
18-25-year-olds are trying to find their place in society while living through an array of experiences that force them to reevaluate beliefs and assumptions they were raised with, which leads many students to disconnect from the church after high school. College Ministry 101 will help church leaders understand the college-age-stage in order to better minister to their needs. This book will provide leaders with practical ministry philosophies about how to effectively minister to college students through mentor relationships, what students need in their day-to-day lives, how to work with volunteers in college ministry, and how to turn college-age students into genuine disciples.
